Kien Ket Lim earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at the University of Rochester, New York, in 2000. He is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He is also the Director of Film Studies Center beginning the spring semester of 2006. His research interests include film studies (film theory, film noir, and ethnographic film) and literary theory (Lacanian psychoanalysis). His essays have appeared in Cultural Critique and Tamkang Review.
